Daughter Having Problem With Reciprocity Fee- Flight From Us

Just got a mail and she paid again and has the printed receipt and is good to go, leaving Atlanta tonight. So, we will see her here, provincia de Cba. tomorrow afternoon. I have a nice dinner menu planned, Cold marinated lomo de bife, potato salad, coleslaw, and tomatoes with fresh basil. For dessert, homemade Christmas cake, one I have been making for 30 years. ( I make a fresh one every year.) Also homemade chocolate truffles and coffee later. Almost forgot to add: a nice Malbec. I would invite you all if I could and thanks for all the responses. F.

I am currently hosting my two kids here, 20 and 24, for a week- so I understand the feelings.
Have a wonderful holiday.

Di you say BOZOS?
Had the old style reciprocity receipt pasted in my old passport, before the online thing. Earlier this year, Delta gate agent would not accept my old style receipt, had a hell of time trying to explain. No cigar. Capitulated and purchased the latest and greatest on-line. When arriving in BA it kind of messed up the immigration guy. Told him my woes and all was OK. One of those speed bumps when traveling. Bozos everywhere.

I've never had a stateside problem with the retaliation fee sticker in my old passport, but it's caused me slowdowns at land borders, at Villa La Angostura and Los Antiguos. The lackeys there don't recognize that version, and I usually have to go through a supervisor to clear it all up.

What time is dinner?? :D

Beware of bogus websites now selling the reciprocity. I have been at the Delta gate recently when people show up with what is apparently a bogus reciprocity receipt. I believe they have the bar code but are missing the accompanying numbers. They were refused at the gate and sent to the service counter in the concourse. After some discussion Delta decided to send them on to AR. Who knows what happened on arrival?

A fellow passenger advised me that if you don't get the bar code and the numbers on your receipt it likely is from a bogus web site who will take your money and set you up for a surprise later. That would be an another adventure, sorting it out on arrival, if they let you on the plane!

And the inept government does nothing to shut them down

Thanks, Stabexeab. Maybe she got a bogus website the first time. I'll know more when she is here and will also warn her for the future and she can tell her siblings as well.

Not very easy. Witness how many sites online 'sell' access to the US Green Card Lottery, which is entirely free and can be done online. Some of these presumably offer some sort of 'help' of dubious value, who knows how many just take your money and go.

On another note, if you have relatives coming, it's always worth considering processing it yourself with an Argentine credit card, as AFAIK you pay the official rate sans the 35%.
