Day trips from Buenos aires

Can anyone recomend any day trips to take from buenos aires? I have been here for two weeks and have basically been working everyday either teaching english or at a restuarant. I would love to get to know a little bit more of argentina than just the city.

Go to Lujan and get sprayed with holy water. While you're there, you might as well pick up a bottle of it and you should be sorted.

You can go to La Plata. Easy to get to. Rather than go to Lujan you can see a much better cathedral in La Plata - fully restored and in pristine condition. There's also a museum of natural history and a fine performing arts center (Teatro Argentino de la Plata). I doubt that there are any performances at this time of year though. The city is worthwhile just for the cathedral.
