No one over 70 would be hired in the Public Sector to lead a major Corporation?

In other cultures, elders are respected for their knowledge and wisdom. Our Western culture idolizes youth - anyone over forty is passe, and on the way to the dustbin.

The responsibilities of being the president of the u.s. are brutally taxing, and the job has a history of visibly aging it's holders. the better the president's physical and mental fitness, the more prepared they are to do the job. that doesn't seem like a controversial statement.

Cognitive decline starts around 70 years old in most people. If you've seen Biden speak throughout the campaign, especially the primary pre-march, he was stumbling on his words and oftentimes did not seem coherent. He's old as dirt. he's probably, at the very least, at the beginning of senility. there's plenty of signs.

Trump is obviously also missing a few nails. It's awfully pitiful that they're our two options.
I think Biden picked Harris for Vice President because he does not intend to run for a second term. He's had a very hard life, with plenty of heartaches, and is probably tired. Doesn't look like his heart is set on becoming President - just on stopping the Republicans.

I stand corrected, but fail to see why does it matter at what age a President takes office. Please elaborate.
Actually, neither of you can read. The statement was "If Joe wins, he'll be 78, eight years older than the current oldest president (DJT, 70)."
Joe will never be eight years older than the current oldest president, unless he loses and in, in four years, Trump is succeeded by someone born in 1950. That person will, by definition, be the current oldest president (he will be the only current president), and be eight years younger than Joe (assuming Joe is still alive).

The complete statement includes the preceding sentence which indicated what I was refering to, which was not the current age of the current president, but the age of the current oldest president at the time of taking office.
