DNI Renewal

Hi

I have a DNI temporaria which was renewed for the second time. They added a stamp to my passport stating that the DNI was valid for another year and giving the new expiry date. Can I travel in and out of Argentina with only my passport mentioning the renewal? The actual DNI itself does not have the renewal yet.

That's the way it's done now. Since migraciones only updates your passport (they have nothing to do with DNIs, actually) RENAPER (registro nacional de las personas) will take care of your DNI. You have to schedule with them separately. I don't think it really matters what your DNI says as long as your passport is updated. However knowing how things can change here, I would get confirmation fror RENAPER or migraciones. Good luck.

Thanks David. Since I may not be in Argentina too much longer I was told not to bother with RENAPER and to just use the stamped passport. As you say it might be better to check with them.
