I was very curious about this one. As much as it hurts to see American farmers (who likely voted Trump) get blindsided by this, I'm happy to see Argentina find a silver lining.

Regarding the US ag producers, there are consequences of ignorance. When you produce a commodity like soy, which many nations can ship to Asia competitively, the tariffs of the impulsive, intellectually feeble Pres, destroy trading relationships. While the former buyers won't forget, Trump will hand out billions to buy you off, just as he did in the 1st term. IMHO, anyone who voted for Trump deserves a full measure of pain, foreclosures, bankruptcies, broken marriages. No sympathy for the devil, nor his pawns.

He sounds realistic . The victor in this will not be the usa but china that has over 6 times the popilation as usa and can buy all its good elsewhere !

I am not bothering to object to his analysis rather wishing bad things for fellow Americans including “broken marriages” is taking it a bit far.

maybe but if I had a business and my best clients were one group of people and then I just abruptely charge them a 100 percent tax its just financial suicide . Chinese are the worlds biggest consumers by far and love to spend !

It’s not “maybe” it is too far to wish broken marriages. If this time of American division, it’s important to take a breath before wishing undue misfortune for political opponents.

I was not in Argentina in the 70's, but I am close with an Argentine who knew a school friend who was picked up off the streets of Cordoba and disappeared. The Liar in Chief wants to rule by decree, untethered by a constitution, courts, congress, or precedent. The fact averse, lo info MAGA voters enabled the descent into strongman rule, aided by a pathetically unqualified cabinet. The criminals are in power now, and will substitute shakedowns, bribery, and repression for the rule of law. Were I an African American, I would know extra judicial killings are tolerated in the US. I hope the US does not replay the terror Argentines suffered decades ago.
