Economist Predicts Argentina’s Financial Collapse

Not for the first time, nor for the last.
But Argentina has an amazing ability to just keep going, regardless of what “economist” says.

And those of us forced by Migraciones to deposit more money into our local accounts than we actually need to live off. (Fortunately, in my case I'm only facing a few more months of this, but am already looking at a strategy to get rid of the accumulating US$ balance by prepaying items such as health insurance and consorcio expenses.)

I would love to prepay my health insurance ( I would pay X months ) and other bills, but it appears that I am not able to, has to be monthly ... rates increase approx. 2% monthly and private health insurance does need to keep up with their costs ... wage/salary increases, equipment, yada yada yada. The exchange rate was / is favorable _ for health insurance, electric, gas, food bought at a store and such _ from the USA and especially my health insurance rate with no deductibles. There are some things that can work out by prepaying if you are able to do so ... but people/businesses here understand the monetary situation ... and I sympathize wholly with them ... so it is the day to day watch of when to withdraw from a USA/EU account to get AR and pay bills...(what servicer, where is it deposited to/or pick up cash and other options) There have been a few of us that have said that they are on the edge of having to relocate due to expenses increasing on fixed budgets ... I have admitted to this as well ... but ... the Whole FN World is having to contend with this ever-increasing inflation/greed/I want mine Now situation...(1980's). The USA became too expensive and ___ (fill in the blank), South America/LatAm is still financially livable, Southeast Asia is teetering one way of the other, actual war acts and I am sure others may know more, Eastern Europe from North to South is precarious at this time, Europe seems in quite an awkward situation with their immigration/financial concerns. We are ALL living in a time of financial uncertainty and concern. Individually we make what we feel is the best decision for us at this time and for the future. The next 6 months will / or may not determine how this country is going to do, it has survived many changes and approaches, so let the wheel spin and see what happens. Just my two cents worth, dang after todays exchange rate it is not even worth an expression. I intend on hanging in here for as long as possible. If you see me on Corrientes saying

"Say, Mister, Could you stake a fellow American to a meal?"

Just shoot me!!

Economists an newspapers insist on declaring Argentina dying, in extremis, or DEAD. And yet it stubbornly keeps coming back for more of the same.

Misquoting the great Mark Twain, The reports of its demise have been greatly exaggerated.
