Escaping Buenos Aires for the summer months - where to go?

Recommend the Sierras of Tandil, 5 hours from Capital.

Decent internet, and reliable WiFi in the many bars and cafes here.... its the mini silicon valley of Argentina...more than 40 IT companies here.
Plus you will most likely meet people, as there are few, if any, foreigners. Have yet to meet another Englishman in two years living here, which cannot be a bad thing.
.

Going to take a look! Thanks.

Rio seems like its also pretty hot and humid.

Hi,

I'm living in Cordoba and Buenos Aires the past few months and would like to escape the heat/humidity in January and maybe February. What locations would be good?

I really only need:

-Decent internet to work
-Preferably a place where there are others whom I can meet

Any idea would be great!!!!!

Thanks!

I would highly recommend the province of Chubut . IMHO it is the most beautiful province of Argentina with incredible variety of scenery . Lago Puelo has the most beautiful beach in Argentina surrounded by the bluest of lakes and green mountains ( click on first foto ) but be warned the water is cold . Epuyen and its lake is stunning . The national parks with their ancient forests are drop dead gorgeous and especially Parque Los Alerces with some of the most tallest trees in the planet

Cholila Lago with the backdrop of the cordillera is incredible .

Puerto Madryn and Whale watching is outstanding and to top it off the welsh valley which includes the preety towns of Trevellin and Gaimen . I love this province .

I was in Chubut recently by the shore and everything was above expectations. I stayed mainly in Puerto Madryn. Also went to Punta Tombo, Rawson, Gayman, Peninsula Valdes, etc. etc. I was thrilled, I highly recommend it. Check it out at Casa de Provincia de Chubut.

This actually looks great. Do you have any recommendations on where to stay? And what part to stay in? Having reliable internet is the most important part for me - as I need to work online - and I do know that the further south you go in Argentina the less reliable. Besides that, this area looks ideal :) Thanks!

I would ask one of the guys at the Casa de Provincia de Chubut in Sarmiento 1172 from 8 to 5 pm. The guy I spoke to was from there, goes all the time to Chubut, has a home there and had lots of good information and advise.
