Expat report on where to live / not to live

I can vouch for Taiwan. Got my permanent residency here twenty years ago and it's been good. Too bad China is going to ruin the party. Japan is on the worst list but there's actually a workaround. Foreigners can own property there and can stay for three months visa free. I have nice country property there near ski country and end up spending almost six months a year in country.

Once China hits the fan though all bets are off in northeast Asia.
