How would you rate a Sturla cruise for visual appeal, accommodating vessel, and some tranquility on the river?
We did it a few years ago, and it was a nice way to spend the day. The boat we took had an indoor cabin and an outdoor deck on top. Obviously, in good weather, everyone wants to be outside, so it can get crowded. You’d want to bring weather-appropriate clothing and accessories like hats, suncream, waterproof jackets, etc.
The boat navigates the bigger canals like Sarmiento and San Antonio, and the various attractions are pointed out, but the boat doesn’t stop anywhere. There’s normally a lot of activity on the waterways, even in the off-season, since I think quite a few people live year-round there. In summer there will be lots of leisure boats, kayaks, people swimming off piers and river beaches, as well as the normal commercial traffic.
The terminal in Tigre is a few blocks away from the centre, and unfortunately I think they don’t run the tourist bus anymore, so you’d need to organise any sightseeing yourself.
