Hi
First go to Forum then to Services Offered I have seen someone that fixes computers and is well recommended
Reina

I have had the exact same problem and spent hours trying to find a solution but mine fell from like 20 centimeters (still it did not work anymore). I finally fixed it myself with the less recommendable solution (I'll give it at the end).

Likely the optical "head" got disaligned.

First try to download test softwares from the company that made de HD, run the tests.

If nothing at all can be accessed, the most professional way trying to fix it is to ask a specialist. It can be costly.
See here : http://servicios.mercadolibre.com.ar/servicio-tecnico/disco-rigido
Be cautious to use only a professional because the rescue needs to be done in a sterile atmosphere (no dust at all). If you ask a "bozo" to do it, he could ruin your DD forever.

The solution that worked for me (I can't really recommend it, you will see many people on the internet saying this is crazy and they are right somehow... But at least it worked for me) :
- Take the DD into one of your hands, then with the other hand give a strong slap one the side opposing the connections. This might put the "head" back in place.
Eventually you can repeat the operation a few times if it does not work the first.

Best advice : ask a professional but choose him very wisely (eventually ask to see in which environment they work, it has to be absolutely dust-free with masks and so on, like a surgeon)

Thanks for the advice all of you!
I've tried to contact a lab situated in Paraguay 729, it's the official adress sent by Iomega, they seem to be knowing what they do http://www.cbltech.com.ar/
I got some work on this HD (f**** all of it...) but most importantly the pictures of our 3 months old boy !
Cross your fingers for me !

I would recommend ricardo too.. he specialises in data recovery, has worked for companies in australia, and apple would send their work to him.
I would not trust any local companies here for this sort of thing.

you can contact recardo via [email protected] or 15 5600 8680

Thanks everyone, just got in touch with Riquard, we're about to set a meeting !
