Hola gente!

Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season! I'm totally digging the xmas in the summer, my first.

Bueno, I have a friend coming in January 11th at 11am. She's bringing me lots of goodies so I want to hire a car service/get a ride for her from EZE to Palermo. What are the most convenient options? Remis or Taxi Ezeiza? She will have 3 large suitcases with her so I'd like it to be as easy going as possible.
I searched on the Remis website but they want a credit card number before they give you the price, not happening.

Thoughts?

In the airport, right after passing the Aduana, you find on the left the "Tienda Leon" charters. They bring you by bus to Retiro and distribute you from there with (price included) Cabs. Price is (if I remember correctly) arround 70 AR$.

I highly recommend Taxi Ezeiza. The people at the stand they have in the airport speak English and they can make sure to give you a car where all your luggage will fit. I have also heard that they will go out of their way to return anything to you that may have been left behind in the car.

i highly recommend via satalital (sp?) they consistently have the lowest rates of any taxi company. Always cheaper than eze taxi.

They do in fact - I have left things in their taxis on 2 separate occasions. First time a netbook, 2nd time a cellphone and both times the items were returned. Having a receipt makes it quite handy to call back and get it sorted. And they accept both dollars and pesos and the person pays in advance so no chance of a tourist getting taking advantage of by a less than scrupulous taxi driver.

Current price is 180 pesos from airport into centro.

Thirding Taxi Ezeiza - a friend left his iPhone in a cab coming from the airport and they returned it to him the same evening (for a small fee). They've always been good when I've used them.

Hi. I have my own taxi with a driver of my confidence (off course!)

He pay me a dayle fixed rate so i ve no idea about the price but you can ask for the price anywhere and ask me for a discount. for sure dont need to pay in advance, as any taxi-

regards
Damian

I was under impression that Taxi Ezeiza charged 180 pesos to go from EZE to Centro (and presumably Palermo) prior to the Nov taxi fare increase. There web site still lists 180 (plus tolls?). I would be surprised if that is valid. I have to believe they increased the fare and also have to believe they now charge more for a nighttime (post 10 pm) ride which the website fails to distinguish.
Other cab cos are cheaper. For example, Classico is now 158 plus tolls for a day time ride to or from EZE. I surmise that almost any radio cab co, eg. Premium, Paris, Pidalo, etc would be cheaper than taxi EZE and can't see why returning a package accidentally left in the car is a big issue.
If the friend can speak Spanish, best to call a radio cab after landing. It's easy to to meet the cab at the MCCafe right next to the terminal exit doors. Usually a radio cab from a large co can arrive in less than 5-10 minutes as the drivers dropping off pax at EZE wait nearby for such calls. Moreover, if she is a good friend and you want to greet her upon her arrival at the airport, you can probably arrange a RT for a lot less than 2x the cost of a one way trip. Ask. That way the cab can pick you and you can be there when she exits the secure area with the cab waiting.

Taxi Ezeiza are white Cabs.
In argentina, the taxi system network is ruled by each municipalty /major.

The recent 26% increment in november in day&night fares just apply to Buenos Aires CITY cabs. Also, legally, the Buenos Aires city cabs (Black and yellow) cannot pick up passengers in Ezeiza, except someone who pre-arrenged and go to the city.

In short:
Taxi Ezeiza maybe didn't increase and has no night fares neither.

Kindly,
Damian
