I am ready to get rid of a few scars on my face and I think a CO2 laser is the best option. I am seeking recommendations for a Plastic surgeon or Aesthetic medicine center in CABA (I am in Soho, but I have a car). I have seen tons of ads of beauty surgeons in Las Cañitas, but I could really do with a solid first-hand advice since this will be on my face. Thanks!

And once you do receive some direction, I would highly encourage you to reach out to some actual patients of the doctor you select. An actual patient, would be the pinnacle of feedback for whomever you are going to trust your face to. Any credible plastic surgeon will understand and have planned for an inquiry such as I am describing. Anything less, you are in a casino.

I have been looking online, but Argentinian standards sometimes are simply based on the cost and not on the quality of results.
Whenever someone asks for advice on a dental implant, for example, they get recommendations from 30,000 ARS to 140,000 ARS. This who paid 30k tells to those who paid 140k that they have been scammed. In reality, they have no idea of what has been put into their mouth.
So, locals are not the best source of advice for medical matters, imho!

If you already have a dermatologist (e.g. a real doctor) ask them if they can do it and if they can't do it ask them for a reference.
You can usually get a consultation with one using your prepaga for a mole check or something - perhaps that specific treatment is extra but at least you know who you are working with is inside the system should anything go wrong.

I have a dermatologist but I don't think aesthetic is a branch of dermatology she is really interested into. She wasn't really helpful so far. I have found that dermatologists just address the clinical issue. Anything non-life threatening is not a concern to them. The only time I asked her for laser epilation through my prepaga, I was quoted more than at external locations and she never mentioned that it is not effective on red haired people. Which only a (honest) aesthetic surgeon has mentioned to me.

Also, aesthetic treatments are not covered by prepagas, hence I don't think they invest in advanced equipment since they don't focus on that.

Perhaps try another one - now days it is pretty easy to ask for a Zoom appointment first, to chat and get the vibe of the doctor and ask questions. Consult your cartilla and do some web research to shortlist. Those I know have professional clinics that also do aesthetic treatments in addition to dealing with more serious medical matters. Perhaps Dermoconsultorios on República del India are an option as they do both. I personally find those that I have seen in BA to be pretty blunt and honest when it comes to recommending treatments or not recommending them, unlike abroad which seem more subtle when not recommending something - but for sure I wouldn’t dream of seeing someone who is not a registered doctor.

What type of scares are we looking to remove? But mine to me are like tattoos each one earned in confrontations etc. I have noticed some fade way with years. Others is not so much. Different types need different procedures as far as my understanding goes. Shallow scares and deep scares each require different treatments.

Mild acne scars, but also one deeper MRSA scar on my chin - that's the only shallow scar I have. The others are just spots with a ticker skin. Since I was finally able to clear my acne, I would relay enjoy a flawless skin, at last!
