Filters Or Delivery For Drinking/cooking Water?

The water in my apartment is undrinkable. I need some kind of water filter - either a counter model or a filtering pitcher.

Recommendations, please....

I think you'd want to know why your water is undrinkable, and if whatever doesn't appeal to you can actually be filtered out.

We got a Hidrolit filter from ML, it's a counter model (we connected ours "bajo mesada" so it's invisible, but it can also be standalone), our water doesn't taste of chlorine anymore and I'm happy. There's a bunch of options around 200k Pesos.

Should check what the issue is with your water, if it’s in CABA then it’s probably just chlorine taste which can be eliminated with activated carbon filter.

In the provinces can be lots of other things in there, in our barrio it’s well water from quite a shallow source so it’s full of nitrates and Arsenic.
Then you need reverse osmosis unit.

We get bidones delivered for cooking and drink mineral water.

Have you recently moved apartment or has the situation suddenly changed in a place you've been living long term? If the latter then if the water used to be okay to drink (ours is) then AySA ought to be able to tell you if the water quality has changed and your building caretaker/administrator ought to be able to let you know if anything untoward happened when carrying out the mandatory tank cleaning.

If you live near the Río de la Plata and the wind comes from the south east (sudestada) you can smell a lot of chlorine in your tap water. The cheapest way to have a water with better organoleptic qualities is to boil the water and use a coffee filter before drinking the water. Psa offers different options and prices, also a filter for the bathroom, good for someone with skin or scalp issues. In between, try humma, which is similar to britta bottle in the USA. There are several “ferreterías” that sell a device símil to PSA or humma/britta.

Thanks, Roxana. I have a Humma pitcher, but there must have been something wrong with the filter because the water came out tasting strange. Tried it with a Britta filter, which fits in the pitcher, and now it is fine.
