Not for breakfast. Mamaw usually only fixed hushpuppies with catfish for supper.
(I grew up in San Diego, but often spent the summer with Mamaw and Papaw near Baton Rouge)

Exactly what my Mamaw and Papaw did. LOL

Fried catfish, hushpuppies, french fries, collard greens, sliced Vidalia onions and sweet tea. Damn, I miss those days!

Looks like a great breakfast. Why the bacon so crispy burned? (tip: a small quantity of vinegar to cook bacon = will not get burned like this and you can get the "crispy" touch a different way).

After all it's carcinogenic.
