First time a purchase on AliExpress used a private courier service and it was amazing

I've purchased many things over the years on AliExpress and have with one exception been satisfied. Only one time someone in the customs department stole the item and AliExpress refunded my money almost instantly.
The only problem is the entire process takes 7-10 weeks and then the Post office is involved. They charge about 7-8000 pesos which is fine for delivery.
This last purchase from AliExpress took about 3 weeks and was delivered by a private company that charged me zero... amazing! It still went through customs but that usually takes 7-8 weeks...this time 10 days.

It wasn't the post office...if you read my post it was Customs. The post office actually told me where customs rerouted the delivery to an address in Mar del Plata, lol

my host country? i don't subscribe to your understanding of things. we are all humans with liberty to move around geography, borders and restrctions are an affront to that human right. no country is hosting me. i support myself. i can criticize what i damn well please. thank you. it is overwhelmingly common to hear stories of peoples mail being stolen by people who work in the process of its movement. whether it be customs or post office. i have literally never heard of it happening in the US where the vast majority of my life was spent. you tell me.

There are other kinds of problems in your countries. Are you from the US? I remember mailing letters from the US to Argentina but going from the US to the Dominican Republic or even India before being rerouted to the Argentinean address on the letter first. Is that Argentina's fault too?

Before digital tracking, theft was a common occurrence in the US ... both USPS and private shippers ... get real

Back to the actually subject again...
I had ordered two items...both were a new private delivery service. The first item was delivered fast and now I know it went through a new speedy customs process. The 2nd item I am told will be going through a standard customs process which means maybe the 8 week delay. We'll see if that one has a delivery charge or not.
I'm not sure how it is decided which items get the speedy process as both items cost the same. The one delivered fast was a watch band and the standard delivery are air fryer silicone magnets...one was light and one heavier. Probably, has to do with the bulk of the magnets and the possibility of it not being really magnets.
