I have not heard Mickey sing at all. I was at a small get together with friends - Mickey was there with his wife. I heard about this performance so thought I would pass the details along to everyone else. I guess I can answer you better after Thursday evening when I listen to him. I guess the other problem that evening might be transportation due to the upcoming strike. So perhaps you might attend the show too and give your feedback too. walter

Are taxi's on strike too?

I've asked every tachero I've had for the last week about this. Most said no, they're taking the day off for fear of some rude person breaking their windshield. A few said they'll take the morning off and play the afternoon by ear.

If taxis are on strike - how would one get to this event? walk?
perhaps they would have to call off the event and reschedule it
i do not know but seems to make sense at this point.
i made a reservation for the event.

thanks for your thoughts

Regardless, I am really interested in seeing this performance and I hope they reschedule if the strike makes thing a bit wonky. My son is a huge Sinatra fan...I'd love to take him.

Many years ago, when Palito Ortega brought Sinatra to Buenos Aires, he asked for a government bailout because he was going to lose money.

I remember that. The place was almost empty but for those who had free tickets and a few others. I believe tickets started at USD 1k a pop. Not many takers.
It is said that they had to go herd the people waiting for buses at the Central Post Office to fill the stadium otherwise The Voice would not come out to sing.

He is not Sinatra. He is singing song Sinatra sang. He is very good at what he does. I have seen (and heard) Mickey sing Sinatra and really enjoyed it.

As for the taxi's......we'll know by late afternoon if they are running. Make a reservation if you think you want to attend and if no transportation is available you can cancel.
