French-speaking areas in the Americas?

You have ile du diable, the famous prison, the space base at kourou, and supposedly some indigenous reservations akin to the most virgin parts of the Amazon.

I looked into going to Guyane once. There seem to be passenger ferries that connect Cayenne with the neighboring countries.

I really want to go to Réunion, which is an island in the Indian Ocean. The food and people are an interesting mix. Also Nouvelle-Calédonie always seemed interesting.
