French-speaking areas in the Americas?

Guyane might be the most expensive Francophone area in the Americas. I'm not aware of flights from Brazil, nor of any road connecting Pará with the Guyanas. Probably would have to fly to France, and back to Cayenne.
You have ile du diable, the famous prison, the space base at kourou, and supposedly some indigenous reservations akin to the most virgin parts of the Amazon.

I looked into going to Guyane once. There seem to be passenger ferries that connect Cayenne with the neighboring countries.

I really want to go to Réunion, which is an island in the Indian Ocean. The food and people are an interesting mix. Also Nouvelle-Calédonie always seemed interesting.

My mistake, apparently you can fly from Belem (Northern Br) to Cayenne for 500USD

I second the intention to visit N Calodonie, and la Reunion et Maurice.
