Deputies present bill against utility hikes

The Radical Party, the Socialist Party and the Civic Coalition along with the National Movement of Consumers presented a bill in Congress to halt the hike of gas and electricity services bills decided by the national government.
"We asked Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo to take this issue into account and to include it in the congressional agenda," socialist lawmaker Silvia Augsburger said.
"The rises in the electricity and gas bills are unconstitutional, illegal and unfair," she added.

this is illegal by any stretch of the imagination

Blah, if you read the Constitution you will realize this is indeed illegal, I haven´t paid for these increases and will continue to do so. I pay the old rate and they cannot cut the service.

Maybe you can help, which law does state that there can't be a cutback in state subsidies?

Articles 28, 42 and 43 of the National Constitution, National Law 24240 art 4, National Law 10396 art 1 and 22, National Civil Code art 3.

Nikad....So if you would please explain to me....you say you aren't paying the increases....how do you do this? Go to Gas Natural and just pay your "usage" part of the bill? How long have you been doing this? No issues?

We are thinking of doing the same and would just like to understand how you are doing this...thanks!

I have been doing this with both electric and gas bills: go to their offices, make a partial payment ( estimate based on the same period last year ) and pay, they cannot refuse to take the payment, and cannot cut the service. I have done this with 3 electric bills so far ( bi monthly ) and will do the same with my next gas bill ( I still didn´t get the one with the outrageous increase )
