General Anaesthetic Experience Here?

Typical television commercial breaks in the USA.

#1 Take this drug and you will live forever, then explains side effects that sound worst than the cure.

#2 Buy this health insurance to supplement your Medicare. Greatest thing since sliced bread.

# 3 Political message, screw Obama care........ Take back your rights or something to that effect.

#4 Law outfit seeking clients for a class action law suit who took drug in commercial #1.

And it goes on and on 24/7, take this, buy this..... Whether it is Obama Care, FU Care, Blue Cross Care, the whole industry is a sham. American Greed at its finest. It is beyond belief.

Sorry to be off topic but.....

Typical television comercial in Argentina. Eat this yogurt and shit out your belly fat.

I mentioned earlier that after my surgery with general anesthesia I would write and share my experience since there was so much doubt expressed about having it done here or in the UK. It was my second time having general anesthesia in Buenos Aires with no problem. This time I had part of my intestine removed in an open stomach surgery, which required very strong antibiotics and anesthesia. My experience was good. I woke up crying and yelling hysterically from the pain because the doctors underestimated my tolerance for pain and were quick to react to comfort me. I was operated on in Clínica San Camilo, which isn't usually mentioned or associated with some of the top hospitals such as Instituto Diagnostico, but the services and care here is excellent. It's very clean and the food is good and the nurses check on you constantly. It's run very strictly since it's a Catholic hospital and the nuns walk around and supervise everything. My surgeon visits me every day and calls me every night, even on the weekends and his days off and he never sends another doctor to replace him. So far so good. I wouldn't fear having general anesthesia done here with an excellent medical team.

Congratulations and have a problem free complete recovery!

My wife had general anaesthetic for rotator cuff surgery last year and everything was fine. Excellent doctors / nurses , hospital. I would not worry the doctors here are good. I currently carry health Insurance in Argentina and the US. I would probably choose here if any surgery was needed.

As for Obamacare , it is a start. In my humble opinion , the biggest problem in the US medical system is medicare. It is hugely abused and driven by ridiculous costs. A half million dollar medical expense to keep a 90 year old alive for another 6 months ? People need to figure out when it's time to die. Not a death panel , but families need the courage to accept reality.

Tort reform has made the cost of malpractice insurance go down in the US. Doctors income is down about 25% in the last several years as insurance companies squeeze every penny out of them. I do not see the situation in the US getting better any time soon.
