Getting malaria pills in BA for travel to Brazil

Turns out I was wrong. According to the WHO there is zero risk of acquiring malaria in most parts of Brazil:

We've been to several pharmacies, but the only thing they have is Tropicur -- I looked that up and it's equal to Lariam with its severe side-effects. We'd really like to get Malarone instead because it seems to have less side-effects, but they don't have it.

Has anyone successfully purchased Malarone in BA, and if so, where?
