Getting Usd Out Of Uk Atms?

The best exchange rate is always at a post office.

shop around:

buying us$1000 at the Post Office will cost you £ 667,56 (http://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money)
buying us$1000 at Thomas Cook will cost you £ 659.07 (http://www.thomascookmoney.com/whatstherate)

Just enjoy the experience of walking into a British Post Office and saying, with your chest all puffed out:
'I'd like to buy some US Dollars please'
Then listen to the assistant say:
'Yes and how many would you like madam?'
Then feel yourself go all weak at the knees as you ask:
'Do you need to see my passport or anything like that?'
And swoon when she says
'No madam, nothing at all, in fact you don't even have to sign anything.'
And leave the post office not feeling like a criminal and post it on FB.
This is what I did last December and she called me sir not madam.
Ain't civilization great?

I usually buy dollars from these guys: https://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/

You can buy dollars with your card.

I`ve used these people a few times in waterloo station, they have other branches around London. They have decent rates and if i`m correct they have an ATM that does dollars, euros, etc but I usually just use the counters.

Just saw these guys' advertisement in the London tube. https://www.weswap.c...m_source=Tube10

According to their web, £659 = $1036,11. Never tried them myself so far, have no idea how reliable it is. Or how likely one is to be able to take out $ in an ATM in the UK.
