Golf Lessons & Handicap For Beginners

Hi folks,

My Argy wife and I are looking for a great teacher.

I personally would like to get a handicap so i can start playing in the public course of Palermo ( where we live )
(ive already learned to hit some 3W drives..albeit not so straight..haha)

Also what's the deal with playin in the public course?

Any recs?

Also i just tried signing up here as a member.. and the form is asking me for a REGISTRATION NUMBER??
where do i get that? is THAT the handicap code ?? thanks
