Hola, this is a good thread to start ?
I wonder if she (Maxine Swanna) knows this website.
I wonder if she interviewed any of you expats for her book.

Maybe I will get that book (the review is not that great @Amazon)? I am not that into lesbian stuff
but maybe the description of BA is interesting if there is any.

not exclusivly Mexican. Italians in argentina were routinely called gringos.

I read the book. It was not fabulous. It mostly focused on this strange relationship with the Argentine woman, and not, as the title would suggest, on foreigners in BA. I wish there were better literature out there about Argentina from the perspective of expats!

Gringos is def not a Mexican thing - people here use it all the time when talking about (usually) people from the US although really, I've heard them use it for any English-speaking foreigner including Canadians and Brits
