Your SUBE card...if you don't plan on having your own vehicle, at least in Bariloche, they have bus cards they sell to tourists at a higher rate than the rate of using your SUBE card.

First thing I do in London or Paris - check the iphone compass...the wife still thinks I'm nuts, but we always go in the right direction.
 
Also, local apps for the smart phone (for Argentina, Omnilineas app is great for bus and train routes, then the local apps for stops, and times in some areas, like Baribus for Bariloche). Yelp and Tripadvisor help with food finds (and sometimes places to avoid). Tracks app is great for trekking maps and route saving, even without cellular service once you've loaded the map since it uses gps to route your location.
