Like many of us, former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford fell under the spell of an Argie Lady. It cost him his marriage and his governorship, but Tuesday his, fiancee, Maria Chapur, was at his side as he cruised to a victory in his campaign for a seat in the Congress of the United States.
It seems like the voters in the USA like a good romantic story with a happy ending.

Oh yeah? Just wait till she makes him move to Argentina so that her mom won't miss her so much, and he, with meager spanish, poor job prospects and a intractable case of culture shock, finds himself stuck in misery, unable to leave for fear of never seeing his new kids again.

Sanford is the probable winner, but no sure thing as he has a strong Democratic opponent - Stephen Colbert's sister.

Oh how I love Roald Dahls twisted take on fairy tales..especially Little Red Riding Hood ."once more the maiden's eyelid flickers as she draws the pistol from her knickers....

But this is the second post you mention this story as if in some way to validate yourself for chosing an Argentinean lady. You employ passive language like "cost him" and "fell under the spell" to stress an image of human being helpless in love to excuse his very base behaviour. If adultery, lying, abuse of state funds is a happy ending well then we may need to rewrite our fairy tales. If they're still together in 20 years and his kids are talking to him then I may reconsider my cynical position and call it a happy ending as everyone makes mistakes in life. FYI before you paint me a bitter love denied lady I am a strong believer in the old media naranja theory having met and fallen in love with my Swedish husband in a matter of days whois my lover, my business partner and my friend. My husband was divorced before I met him, His 11 yr old son came to live with us in fact and is a big part of our new blended family. I just didn't need to lie, trod on a previous family etc in the pursuit of happiness and I just doubt that someone who is cavalier with money, his govt. position and his former family is someone of strong moral fibre. Argentinean women are some of the most beautiful in the world, no doubt. I seriously hope he and she make this a life long commitment for the pain and humiliation he caused as well as the lack of respect for his office.

Happy ending... Is this something like a masaje con relax? Wait... where am I, in the telo thread? I'm disoriented.
Two minds, but a single thought.

Inmature elements within my character would have led me to say something about happy endings and argie ladies...... but I shouldn't be objectifying women.

Sanford's sweetie is my neighbor in the Botánico, she lives on República de la India, just below Cerviño. He asked her to marry him at the Bella Italia Grill (according to restaurant staff, though I didn't ask them about it).

As an Argentine born woman, I don´t think this is romantic, cheating on your wife, dumping her and running to your mistress. He should have grown a pair and put an end to a relationship to move on. Has nothing to do with Argentine women or happy stories imho.

Lmao! This cracked me up, and was my exact same thought. I blamed it on English being my second language, I guess it was not just me hehehe
