Health System In Ba.as

a young argentine man ( 30 years old) died recently of cancer . he looked pretty fine from outside and suddenly .......!!!

No plan can help you, if you don't visit doctor. I really doubt he died because he didn't have a plan. 210 allows you to make whatever test you can imagine, just not everywhere and not much luxury included. Don't pressure people to pay more than they need.

he indeed had a v good plan. death was less stressful.

I am talking about people with no plans and who pledge being young with no plan is OK

Thank you all for sharing.
For those who asked about my age and medical needs. I'm 30 and I don't have major health issues.

I am around your age and have osde 210, lowest plan in osde. Job is paying it for me, but I already had it before, when I came to Argentina (as tourist). I was using it quite a lot, because for years I didn't visit any doctors. Till now I didn't miss anything. You get a book with doctors and institutions that you can use and you can set up as many visits as you wish (weird system, but for me in one case proved good, since the first doctor was not very inetrest and all "was just fine"..). The biggest problem is to get knowledge, where to go, because everything is very specialized here. I am lucky to have doctor firends and job is providing meetings with doctor. What I experienced here, it is very important, that you go to the best place for some issue. Sometimes you have to wait a month to meet specialist, but since I was never in hurry I was satisfied with first call (probably with some more calls I could put that time to 2 weeks). Also you can go to guardia anywhere and they actually check you up (in my country if its not urgent, they just send you home).

The plan is also covering basic dentist services such as white seals, regular checks, cleaning ...

As I said, I am not an expert, just user. I have some insights in osde and not everything is perfect, but since they are covering everything till now without any problem, I can't complain. There are also other plans of course, but I don't know them. Some hospitals are also offering their own plans (Italiano and finochietto I know), but for me it seemed a bit expensive, since you depend on location and in my opinion hospital plan will be more cost effiecent as osde (in my understaning doctor in Italiano will try to spare some money to hospital if you have their plan, while the same guy will send you to all possible tests if you have external plan, which in my case proved as lucky...).

So, choice is yours, just don't forget to check what hospitals you have around. I wouldn't depend on public ones, they are nice to have them just in case, but you want a plan, I can assure you.
