Help with importing a laptop

Why you don't get someone to DHL it to you and just declare it as broke and spared parts and declare value at just 100 usd.

You are just really naive and silly if you send anything with the regular national carriers from any country.
Would that work? It looks new, I wouldn't be convinced if I were them. Sounds a lot easier than going back to the UK to get it though, which seems to be the most common advice.

My suggestion would be to have the laptop sent to someone (friend, family), or to some place where your laptop can be dropped and it will be held for you, in one of the neighbouring countries, Chile, Paraguay, or Uruguay, and then mule it in from there.

Much cheaper than a transatlantic flight, and you get to see new places too.

You would need a reliable courier service to handle the transportation and take care of any possible customs fees.

I’m having the brake parts I ordered from the UK muled in this weekend.
Thanks for this suggestion, I'd be OK to go and pick it up from Uruguay or Chile. Any suggestions about where it could be held?
