I'm leaving in a couple of weeks so going down my check list which includes Horse Racing this Monday or Friday. I've been to the Palermo Horse Racing web site which gives a calendar and a racing sheet but not much info. If anyone has been lately....

How much to get in?
How much to get in to the good parts of the stands?
What is dress code if you want to get in to the good parts of the stands?
What is the minimum bet?

Anything else we should know?

Thanks, T/

Dress code, no tennis/running type shoes, no T shirts. Any shirt with a collar. Safe side wear slacks. Various betting windows, fancy lounge is 5 pesos. Most tables are reserved, good tip will get you a table.

I quit going to the elite lounge, pain in the ass for me. The other lounges are just as good in my view. Am a levi guy.

At Palermo you can just walk past the entrance to the "fancy" area and go to the paddock area for free. Turnout can be pretty low unless there's a decent stakes race on the card. Mingle with all the old men out to make a buck and watch the post parade and the finish from the fence...pretty much the way I play it here in the states, too.

Never been to San Isidro but it does look much nicer on TV.
