By Law no Health Plan Provider can refuse services to an applicant, because of age... However my XP with OSDE , was there is no fixed rate if over 65, to join must take a battery of tests at headquarters, then your case will be reviewed and a rate determined. Pre Existing ailments are not covered . The rate may be astronomical a deterrent to join.

They SAY that, but try to join it and you get the royal runaround. My internist heads the Internal Medicine section of a private hospital, and explained how the game is played. They will take your application and then put you through endless checks, physical examinations, tests, specialist's consultations, reviews, more tests.......ad infinitum.

If you make it through the gauntlet, they will quote an exorbitant monthly rate, plus additional monthly payments for "special factors".

The Hospital Aleman is at least honest - they just say NO.
