How Is Aerolineas Now?

My impression of Aerolineas is almost comical. The one time I flew with them the crew didnt check to see if the seat belts were fastened before takeoff, and they were still walking the aisles as the plane was accellerating down the runway! I also remember when a crew member left the toilet with half his shirt hanging out of his trousers having a real struggle doing up his belt. Air Mongolia is probably more professional.

As long as we're naming airlines that we like.... I took AeroMexico a few months ago. New planes, very nice service, good food and entertainment.

I think my recent experience on American may be the worst. My wife and I still refer to it as the American Airlines Electric Clown Incident.

Can anyone top this?

About 3am I needed to stretch so I went to the back of the plane and stood there for a few minutes. The area was a U-shaped galley with no one in it except me. Soon an older, lady flight attendant came stomping down the aisle toward me and said sharply "Do I go to your house and stand around in your kitchen??!!"

I just stood there with my mouth hanging open, unable to reply because not only was her question and attitude completely crazy but she had layers upon layers of colored makeup on her face and her hair was teased way up as if she like to put her finger in an electrical outlet.

She looked just like a petite Bozo the clown in a flight attendant uniform.

The only explanation I could think of was that she was one of those 'stewardesses' that the airlines put into their tv ads in the 1980's (Hi, I'm Amanda, fly me'), and she's flying around in the low oxygen environment for the last 35 years.

Should have taken her name and filed a complaint.. When I'm in economy I like to head back there to stretch my legs but make sure I stay out of the way and avoid being there when they are doing meal service.

I have not flown Air Mexico for 4 years. But I don't like it simply cos fying on Air Mexico means, coming out of the plane ( in Mexico city) collecting your luggage, doing customs ( opening bags) - again checking in for your next flight. This is despite the fact that you may be in transit ( eg flying JFK - EZE via Mexico city) . Could not understand the heads or tails of this weird procedure!

Wonder if its still the same?
