I had posted a few months ago about the possibility of transferring to work in Argentina for the same multinational company that employs me in Europe and has a regional office in Buenos Aires. I gained some insight from your replies of what to expect. Some of you said that you are still earning your salaries in your original countries therefore not so exposed to the devaluation and inflation.
The negotiations with my company have been ongoing for a few months, way too long, it is very mind exhausting. I wish to conclude this matter once and for all with them (accepting or rejecting) and I need your help by learning of your personal situations. The big bosses definitely want me there and I am willing to make the move but it seems that HR is the one causing all the trouble. They are saying that due to Argentinian legislation I need to sign a new contract, an Argentinian contract, which means my full salary would be paid in Pesos in Argentina. The conditions and benefits are good, but what I am thinking is that by the end of the year it is likely I will have lost a lot of it with devaluation as well as my purchasing power. And if I do end up saving anything how will I take it out of the country?
The big bosses are open for discussions and ideas so I have to do myself the work that HR should be doing. I would like to hear your experiences on this matter and if possible specific clauses or contracts, or even legislation. Please advice on what to do or contact me directly if you would like more privacy.
Thanks in advance for your help once again.
