I am going to apologise well in advance for the frugality and completely non-world-changing nature of my request...
I need some new shoes.
And because of budget constraints blah, blah, blah, they need to be the all encompassing, go anywhere, wear with anything type. Basically, I need a new pair of converse. Does anyone know the best place (or the cheapest) in BA to pick up a pair of cons from?

I saw a few tables outside the bus station the other day with some cons going for around $15.. not sure they are legit. Saw some used ones too for about $5! Wonder where they got those?

Also take look at Mercadolibre I find allot of things there.. then go buy them on location. http://listado.mercadolibre.com.ar/converse

Good Luck! Cons Rock!

Stock Center has a good Converse selection, or at least they did about two years ago. I found the prices to be the same as they were at any other shoe store. Here's the link, they have several locations: http://www.stockcenter.com.ar/

If you're in Belgrano, take a walk on Cabildo Ave. and you'll find lots of stores to the street or in gallerias selling them. Legit. They should be in the 200/300 pesos area. Also, you could go to ANY shopping mall and look find them in stores like Cristobal Colon, Billabong, and the like.

Phony for sure at that price.

thank you!!! really appreciate your advice, will enjoy going shopping!
200/300 pesos seems a lot, but then they are cons. maybe i could try and flog off my old pair "second hand" jaja!
cheers again!

I saw converse for 99 pesos in Tango on Santa Fe and Godoy Cruz. I walk by them everyday and am tempted to run in and buy a pair--I am currently still using my converse that Ive owned since high school and are in appalling condition.

I just bought a pair in the Abasto shopping mall (the huge building that used to be a market). Go to the basement level at the other end of the building from where the movie theaters are and you'll find two sports clothing shops that have a good selection of Converse sneakers. The prices were about on par with what I'd seen elsewhere around town, maybe a bit cheaper.

Awesome awesome awesome !!!

i like the sound of that Tango place on Sante Fe. i'm stuck inside for the next couple of days with my final semester assignments... i think a new pair of cons will be a perfect treat once i am done :D
