I dunno...but pretty sure he didn't expect to be executed - shot in the back while on his knees. What on earth did this man expect?

I am guessing since he never touched his gun, and he had a clear second amendment right to have it, that he was thinking that it was irrelevant to observing and filming something in a 100% legal fashion. You have to be a special kind of stupid to show up to a protest to interfere with any kind of law enforcement with a concealed weapon attached to your body. What on earth did this man expect? One of the first things you should declare when approached by an officer seeking to detain you is that you have a concealed firearm so you can surrender it safely. The legality of the detainment is something you have the right to discuss with an attorney in a legal setting. The last thing you want is to be resisting arrest and having your gun stumbled on halfway through trying to cuff you.
I have no personal opinion on the incident, other than the victim was clearly stepping in dangerous territory where LEO could easily perceive the threat of his actions. Resisting arrest and failure to follow commands while possessing a gun is enough to be perceived a threat.I am guessing since he never touched his gun, and he had a clear second amendment right to have it, that he was thinking that it was irrelevant to observing and filming something in a 100% legal fashion.
Certainly its possible he was thinking Trump would pardon him, as Trump has pardoned many other people who legally carry guns...
The video shows very clearly an unprovoked murder, and then, the intentional removal of evidence, and refusal to testify.
Every other law enforcement agency, be it City, County, State, or Federal, in the USA, automatically investigates every single officer involved shooting, and usually puts the officers involved on leave during that time.
I agree with a lot of what you say. But many states allow concealed carry, some without a permit, including Texas. My sister in Shepherd TX, bless her heart, feels it necessary to go heeled to the damned Dairy Queen.I have no personal opinion on the incident, other than the victim was clearly stepping in dangerous territory where LEO could easily perceive the threat of his actions. The victim and police deserve a fair trial to determine whether a threat truly existed and if the response was justified.
The Supreme court has in multiple instances interpreted the Second Amendment as a right to carry arms for the purpose of defense. What exactly was this man hoping to defend himself against here? Did he perceive ICE as a hostile threat he needed a gun to defend himself against? Couldn't ICE make the same conclusion that he was intending to "defend" himself by shooting them if needed?
That being said, the second amendment does not in any way grant civilians the right to hide guns and interfere with police. In fact there's much public debate over what "bear arms" even means, what was considered a "militia" back then and if civilians today even qualify as a "well regulated militia".
Have a look at how the Oxford dictionary defines it: https://www.oed.com/search/dictionary/?scope=Entries&q=bear arms
Even as a former gun enthusiast, I think the second amendment has been completely distorted and corrupted from it's original intent. Instead of American colonialists protecting themselves from hostile British forces, we now have to watch Gramps holster his .45 in a McDonalds next to your kids in the playplace ball pit.
I recall not too long ago my daughter going to daycare in San Antonio while in neighboring Uvalde, TX children in Robb Elementary were being blasted in the face by a high powered rifle.
The second amendment in it's current interpretation ought to be repealed.
I agree, assuming what was retrieved wasn't another officer's gun that had fallen out during the struggle, there was no reason to apply lethal force to an unarmed man who was already on the ground.I agree with a lot of what you say. But what is clear from the video evidence is that Pretti was on the ground and at their mercy when they discovered his pistol, and had been disarmed before he was executed. Where's the threat?
Comply or die? Complicity does not guarantee one's safety. No one in the USA is safe anymore. My relatives in Europe tried to comply with Mussolini and later Hitler. A dozen ended up either summarily executed or sent to concentration camps.Lol...you left out George Floyd. Cops DID go to jail. Facts on that one slipped. GF was a criminal and an addict. The two men above you mentioned we not however.
The protesters are being paid by the left and George soros just like the 2020 riots . ICE AGENTS are being pushed to the limits just doing their jobs.
You play with fire. Youll die by it.
Moral of the story, just dont protest just to make money or defend illegals destroying the USA. Why is this so hard to understand?
