I need to vent. Fatal shootings in Minnesota

Because the dynamic of it reminds you a lot of the types of debates between Kirchneristas and anti Kirchneristas
except neither openly carry guns every day...
and the Ks and the anti Ks are sort of mutable here.
One day a Bullrich is a Montonero, the next a Mileinesa.
I know quite a few families with both at the dinner table here, and they manage not to kill each other.

They did their killings in the 60s and 70s , Tupamaros, Quebracho,FAP, Montoneros, ERP,Tacuara to name a few
There were plenty of killings here most of them outside the law from Peron when he was president later the military junta and all the subversive forces.
Comparing federal forces deporting ilegals in the US to fascism or other types of ''isms'' is beyond far fetched.
Hatred for a legally elected president does not authorize anyone to link him to any fascist regime, and further more , i'm sick and tired of a bunch of people crying wolf about shit that doesn't exist, it's just plain hatred and prejudice against an idea or a person and these people are the ones that will school you in tolerance.

What is up with the ICE agents lack of fashion sense? They all wear a mash up of sneakers or timberland footwear, jeans and kakis. Looks like they all shop together at Dicks Sportswear, though do not coordinate to have a matching ensemble or common dress code.

Its true that 50 years ago or more the Montoneros, who were mostly from the upper middle class, killed somewhere around 500 people, mostly military officers and police. And then, the government killed 5000 Montoneros, and 30,000 or so civilians.
And its certainly true that Peron, and other Argentine Military officers, killed a bunch of people over 40 or 50 years of coup and counter coup.
And every argentine I know admits that the reason we dont have a military government anymore, or much of a military here, is because of all the violence and counterviolence by the military.
But, again, its been incredibly peaceful here, since the last dicatorship failed in 82.
Police in Argentina kill very few people.

The ICE agents are, indeed, "federal forces". They are not trained law enforcement officers, they are border patrol. Many of the recent hires have 40 odd days of training. It shows.
As in the Justice Department link I posted earlier, you can see that actual LEO's in the USA have stricter rules, more training, oversight, and accountability. Many real LEOs are publiclly commenting on how unprofessional and sleazy the ICE agents are.
NOBODY in the USA has Unlimited Immunity, as Kristi Noem has been stating.
Trump makes his own bed, and in the USA, nobody needs authorization to think, or say, whatever they want.
I know a bunch of people who live in Mpls/st Paul. most are in my age range- over 65. Many are filming ice, and occasionally, protesting. They are not being paid by anyone, they are witnessing illegal actions by ICE, and recording it. Completely legally.
I see first person info about what shit exists...
I have protested Trump myself, last summer. I am 70. Nobody paid me. I made my own sign. I was on the street with virtually every senior citizen I know in my rural farming area up there, as young people have to work for a living, and, while they also were protesting, it was in smaller numbers.

Your numbers are way off about what happened here in the 70's but you already made up your mind so what's the point in trying to show proof that most of what you might know has a heavy coat of propaganda well dished out by the local left .
As far as ICE , i'm not saying they are saints but they have a job to do which is remove ilegal aliens and because of the prejudice against Trump ,some Americans are turning on their own government , again, defending criminals . That alone is hard to believe that all of the sudden 70 year old Americans want ilegal aliens to stay when there are a ton of people waiting in line their turn to access the US by legal means.

I understand the political situation in the US keep Americans busy.

What I don't understand is why this forum needs to be used to vent your feelings, opinions, whatsoever.
Why don't you all go to reddit, X or whatever other place to discuss this? This discussion doesn't belong here.

Can't you just mute the thread or remove your comment if you're getting notifications? There's plenty of threads I don't read.

Milei is starting his own version of ICE, and half of us are 'in process' of immigration, it's not irrelevant. All the people making border runs as 'fake tourists' or overstaying visas, get ready to taste concrete as you're taking your toddlers to daycare or working in a cafe. Even people with the equivalent of precarias are getting their car windows smashed, getting hauled off and locked away. It's the method that people object to; deportations were always done, but in a less 'showy' way, and with less errors. Milei often tries a version of what Trump does:

Would the Argentines protest on our behalf, if things got ugly?

Some threads are occasionally "closed to further replies" especially when some members start making personal comments directed at other members.

Anyone who doesn't want to discuss this issue is free to ignore it. Even though the first post began with a false equivalence, I find the comments interesting and appreciate what others have to say, though I have withheld my personal opinion regarding both of the fatal shootings in Minneapolis, waiting for additional evidence to be revealed.

That's not the point. The point is that this is a forum about relevant developments in Argentina. Opinions about what happens in Minneapolis can be vented elsewhere, why here? And so far I haven't seen an answer to that question: why specifically here? There are enough places to discuss US politics on the web. This is not a group forum for Americans, please keep that in mind.

That said, a post regarding plans of Milei to start some kind of ICE in Argentina is 100% relevant to this forum.

Many are now "undercover" in plain clothes too.
