Immigration changes: Health, Education, Deportation

Watch out....the new protocols at migracion are serious. Some just starting on Sept 1 as officer explained to me at the airport. My girlfriend came and was held up for two hours.....and just made it into the country. She made it because I was there....and she had pictures in her phone showing we had a relationship...our age difference didn't help the situation. Never mind she had her university degree in engineering with her....never mind she was here last year. They did not care about the medical insurance that I bought. Bottom line is that they are now out to stop marginal entry situations, unlike before. I would be skeptical about overstay reentries, unlike before...my opinion. If the officer is having a bad day it could be very difficult.

Wow, never heard of a reaction like that before! What were their concerns in letting her in? Do you know which protocols started Sept 1?

She cannot be without applying for legal residency oat DNM of citizenship at Federal Court, my clients didn't have any issues returning with citizenship cases on.

What is her status? I'm guessing she wasn't coming in as a tourist.

OK I will ask this here as my thread is not getting much attention (copy-pasted)... admins, I hope it's ok.

I entered Argentina from Paraguay on Nov 12th last year, got married to a local on June 3rd this year (well outside the time allowed) and then we found out about the DNU that came into effect a few days before. Go figure. It was because of the way things used to work, that I overstayed at all (this is atypical for me). I don't know if this is any valid excuse that Migraciones will accept, i.e. "but it was a transitional period".

For now, I have extension on stay until early December 2025 as we have submitted _some_ documents. Final documents outstanding to be submitted this week. As the case is borderline with the new DNU and my transgression of the usual tourist conditions...

(1) Is there a way to defend against a deportation order through the courts, if Migraciones denies the application? I thought I read about such a thing.
(2) If I do go that route, then from there on out I will have to pay lawyers to go the courts? Or can I only go that way *before* applying through Migraciones?

Just wanted to mention, came into the country a few days ago and showed the immigration dude my precaria. He didn't ask for proof of insurance or anything like that; curious if tourists are being asked?
