Inflation in Argentina.

And i'm guessing that wasn't even a drink made with premium liquor.

I had one of those inflation moments yesterday, stopped with the SO at a cafe in Belgrano. He had a cafe doble, I had a bottle of water and we split a tostado.

88 pesos for that. Coffee (30 pesos), water (20 pesos) and bread/cheese (38 pesos).

This is why I don't go out anymore.

Last night I went to Franks Bar and cocktails has gone up.....or I had one too many last time and forgot how expensive it was!! Last time I was there, maybe 3 months ago cocktails were 40/45 (I'm certain)....last night they were all 60 pesos. Incredibly expensive. I can't see places like that existing too long on those prices, at least for me I won't be heading back to soon. I guess if I leave it another 3 months prices will be....80 pesos?

Won't be long til we have to start smuggling in flasks and asking for coca-cola. :)

Already done that....added in the vodka int he bathroom where the trash can in the stall was filled with empty bottles. not my classiest moment.

What About Gas Prices $7 pesos a liter (Super outside B.A.) or $26,46 a Gallon , works out to US$5,88 a Gallon. The most expensive gas in the USA was, in Chicago this week, US$4,28 a Gallon...!! .

Gas in B.A. was $2 pesos a liter in 2004 figure out the inflation rate.

Nah it's a fairly upscale place, so they use top shelf. I can't remember what was in the drinks we got but it's a fancy cocktail place, the premium is for the ambientes. Wouldn't be paying 60 pesos in any other bar, it's like 878 but last time I went cocktails were still 40.

Last time I went to Franks (I swear no more than 2 months ago) it was yes, 40-45 pesos a drink. Crazy increase overnight!

Cheers for the confirmation, a 20-30% increase I can understand but that's a 50% increase. Amazing!

Mm.. I've been but I didn't think they were using top shelf liquor in their regular drinks. If they are, I don't even think 60 is that bad of a price. (I mean, yes, outrageous in the grand scheme of things but it could always be worse).

I was at a nice restaurant the other day and my girlfriend ordered a mojito after dinner.

Bill came.

$115

Wow.
