Inflation in Argentina.

These prices I am hearing about are all from premium and high end places. Here in Congreso, where I live, we go to a local parilla on Saenz Peña right off the plaza del Congreso and for $85 pesos per person, we have - bread, unlimited salads, french fries provenzal, parilla libre - chorizo, cuadril, vacio, pollo, as much as you want, plus 1 glass of wine and 1 bottle of water. The place is super clean and suprisingly enough every time we go there we hear several people speaking english (we don't speak english to each other) so it's fun being around foreginers!

Looking at your restaurant target, I must say try "el Cervantes", Peron, in the middle between Callao & Riobamba. Affordable & good food. Matambrito tiernizado a la provenzal it´s a must to ask in my opinion

I know exactly the restaurant you are referring to. I walk by there all the time, it's always FULL of people, I have never eaten there though. I will go there one of these days to check it out. The menu looks fairly extensive also.

I can second that place. Its well priced and has decent food. Plus has a waiter who looks like Bela Lugosi! :D

Not sure that my intent in opening this thread was to pass judgement on the journalistic attributes of the Herald. I gather my information from many sources and formulate my own opinion based on these sources. In a previous life , I was in shipping and import export , and their coverage of that interests me. Opinions expressed in the Herald are astute , and almost 100 % anti-Christina , which i find amusing.

The opinion pieces take almost the complete opposite political position to the actual "news"

Me laundry now costs $20 a bag up from $6 in 2006.Restaurants are arm and a leg, used to
be a few fingers....but they always seem to be full with local folks who haven't got a pot
to hiss in,according to how bad their salary is.Must be magic.

What do you consider "news" and what are the sources ? An opinion on political position is reporting to statements or facts by the government and/or opposition. You must evaluate if the opinion expressed is accurate and decide for yourself if you choose to believe it.

Opinions are like assholes , everyone has one.

I'm talking about the Buenos Aires Herald website and their "news" section (The large section on the left of their website) that is written with a heavy slant towards the government viewpoint whereas the Columnist section (Starts halfway down the page on the right.) is almost always critical of the government.

This is a 2x1 thread ... inflation in B.A. and the Quality and contents of the Herald...!!
