One can of La Campagnola tuna in oil (at the local Chino)
Two weeks ago: $i,700 ------Today: $4,500.

Same price in ML

I was told at a subte ticket office that the fare might increase in January from 80 pesos to 800 pesos.

Checked Jumbo online, and it is listed as Nikad says. $1,990 small can, $2,600 large.
Then I checked Carrefour: same low price but marked: OUT OF STOCK
Checked Mercado Libre again, and the small can is still listed at the $4,000 price. With shipping, it comes to $4600.

In short, don't walk but RUN to Jumbo and buy all available stock. Must be a pricing error or oversight. Will go tomorrow and post an update.

Lol, seriously, check a few sources when shopping (in times of high inflation you will see crazy things)

Something I have noticed now without so much brecha, some imported foods are suddenly much “cheaper” than they were before, and more imported options seem to be appearing on shelves again.
For example imported Swiss chocolate in Jumbo for about €4 a block (ARS4.650) now about the same price I pay in Auchan or Carrefour in Paris for the very same chocolate whereas previously it was about the double whenever it happened to be available here. I also picked up some imported Pesto for roughly a little less than in Europe - around €2 (ARS2.856) and actually cheaper than the locally made pesto (ARS2.956) while the same brand of imported pasta is also at similar prices to Europe (around €3).

Inflation aside, market dynamics are changing too.

Uber today was 50% more expensive than usual and it didn't say it was a high fare.
