Hi All,

I just arrived in BA and got service with Movistar. The cell phone is working fine, but the internet service is not. The sales guy tried a lot but couldn't figure it out. It is set to GSM and there seems to be an issue with the APN settings. He says he is entering it the same as all other phones. Any help would be appreciated. One other thing, I never did get the phone unlocked before leaving the US. Although, I have read that this phone doesn't need it, and additionally I recently went to Taiwan and it worked perfectly there. Please help.

Thank you very much.

I also can't get my phone (Xperia Neo) to do internet on Movistar. I'm thinking of get a Claro chip and see if that works.

MT15a-SL

Supposedly supports: UMTS-HSPA 800/850/1900/2100, GSM-GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900

should work then.

try its an android right?

try dialling *#*#4636#*#* and changing the preferred network. I've found WCDMA preferred works best.

I ran the command. It was already WCDMA

Current Network: Movistar

Ran ping test say network unreachable.

Note I was able to get data to work on this phone in China, Spain, Canada and the USA.

Thanks for the help!

I'd talk to movistar and make sure data is enabled on your sim. I've got a similar phone on movistar and although 3g reception is crap in most places in the city it does work in places.

Hi Ejcot. I´m confused. I went to your links. If the EVO Design supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and Argentina has GSM 850, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, doesn´t that mean that the Design supports all of the 3 listed for Argentina? Plus an additional one (900), of course. Well, shouldn´t it work for 2g at least?

Thanks.
