Irish Guy in BA - Anyone play golf?

I just had to point out that two people using the usernames, "HenryHoneyBalls" and "Ronnie Hotdogs," are posting in this thread. Thank you for making me laugh. May your balls fly high and your drives reach the sky, fellas!

Thank you, HenryHoneyBalls is a nod to a famous South Aftican rugby player from the 90s, Henry Honibal.

Palermo isn't on the link by the way but you can turn up and play, weekends is very busy so you'd be in for a wait.
Weekdays I find Friday afternoon around 1130 to 1330 you can turn up and get on.
I think you need to use Vista Golf to book Palermo or ring them. I have never been able to figure out Vista Golf though.

There are a few clubs I would love to play but they never seem to have open competitions on adondejugamos.com:

Ranelagh
Olivos
Nordelta
San Andres
Buenos Aires Golf Club

Does anyone have a contact that might be able to invite me to a semi open competition?

Hello reviving this thread....anyone playing golf or is a member here in BsAs.
My club overseas decided to increase their distant member fees. Any club take member transfer here under WHS system?

Hi Smurf,
To play most places here you need a Matricula which is Argentine Association of Golf membership and they take care of the WHS.
To get your Matricula it's handled by each local club but you can walk into the Pro Shop at the Course in Palermo and speak to Marcelo pay him 285,000 pesos and you'll get your matricula number and first handicap which will be 54 :D, then you start putting cards in as usual.
This is valid for a calendar year so signing up now you lose 2 months already.

With your matricula number you can sign up to https://www.adondejugamos.com/ad/reservasconsulta.php.and can play any of the opens that are available in the weekd.

Other courses are more private and you'll need a member to invite you.

Palermo you can play by signing up to a time on their vista golf website, but it does get very busy and can be hard to find a time.
Marcelo will explain how it works, I haven't played Palermo for a long time since moving to Pilar.

How your AAG handicap can be used abroad I don't know, I have never tried.
AAG website says you can though.

Marcelos fee has gone up a lot, it was closer to $100 a couple of years ago though I think this is down to the AAG putting up their fee for having a handicap. As Argentina uses the world handicap system is it not possible to use an overseas handicap in Argentina and access adondejugamos that way? Id love to know but have found it very difficult to find out. Is it possible to do this directly with AAG and just pay their fee directly so as not to have to join a local club too?

I think AAG fee is the same whichever club you are at. Someone I know had his at la orquídea and paid the same,

As far as I know it has to be done via a club can’t be done direct with e AAG
