Is Monday a holiday in Argentina?

I know Tuesday is, but what about Monday? Will banks and things be open?

Tuesday is the real holiday, but they've made Monday a holiday too in order to make a nice long weekend. How nice that must be for people who have local jobs.

Friday afternoon many, if not most of the government employees were let off at noon to prepare for the rally

If you add this Calendar ID: [email protected] to your google calendar, it will enter in all the Argentine feriados. Voila! no more feriado mysteries.

As with the majority of public holidays you will also find shopping centres open. I believe this wont be the case on Tuesday though.

Here's the official list of non-working days from the Interior Ministry's site. These get updated from time to time with "emergency" holidays, so it pays to check it from time to time.

Don't expect to find much open on Tuesday, since the unions try to enforce this as the official workers' holiday.
