Is today a holiday or, something? My building is eerily quiet for a Monday.

Just wondering. I am a light sleeper. Mondays I usually wake up around 6 am when I start hearing street noise but, today it is super quiet. I haven´t even heard any neighbors yet this morning.

Isn´t it today a Jewish holiday ( Iom Kipur I think ?) Not a national holiday though... or maybe your neighbors overslept? ;)

Yeah, maybe. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure it wasn´t me before I continue about my day. The city is so noisy that you really notice when the volume dies down a little.

Update- I hear honking so the noise is about back to normal now.

Yom Kippur is actually this coming Friday, the seventh.

However, we noticed everything a bit subdued this morning ourselves. We had to dodge far less erractically driven cars aiming for us when crossing the streets on the way to school.

Maybe the calm before the storm. Should be gridlock downtown later today as some union members vent their frustration that they can't set fire to trains with impunity.

We're not exactly on a loud street, but it has been pretty quiet today. No clue why though.

Not a feriado today that I'm aware of but next Monday, yes. Maybe people just took long weekends?! :)

Maybe they just got started late this Monday.

I don't know about you guys, but this morning was perfect for staying in bed! Cold, windy... I would have happily slept in.

I think they are still celebrating The Pumas beating Georgia :)

Many schools have a spring break around this time so a lot of families are probably on vacation.
