Is zonaprop safe to rent from for short term?

Does anyone have experience with zonaprop.com.ar? There are a lot of scams in the U.S. around apartment rentals on Craigslist.org.It seems risky to transfer a large amount of money to some unknown person because I saw a nice looking apartment listing on the internet.

Any idea if zonaprop is safe?

Zonaprop is just a site for posting advertisements so in itself it is neither safe nor unsafe.

You’d be better off with Airbnb at least you don’t have to involve yourself with Argentine estate agents.

Zonaprop is not like Craigslist (although I have had a good experience renting an apt in NY via Craigslist). However, I wouldn't transfer money to an unknown person in either case.

I would use Airbnb. Yes, its means that I need to make a transfer from abroad, but I trust Airbnb.

It's been safe for me the two times I've rented however I have had help with my Argentinian girlfriend and did the sending the money in person doing it online in advanced is risky in any country in my opinion unless it's maybe to a company thats known

I recommend using 4RentArgentina. I have used them and never had a problem. I used Zonaprop once and had one issue, I was not advised that I would be responsible for the monthly HOA. I am sure it was buried somewhere in the paperwork. Regardless of who you use make sure that you ask them to reveal ALL additional costs that you will be responsible for. I have found that Realtors will not blatantly lie about what you are getting , they just will not tell you the whole truth. With 4RentArgentina I have never had a surprise charge.
