It's a great article for truthiness, isn't it? As you read it you can play 'spot the massaged statistic' and 'spot the alternative facts' both at the same time but as it is an opinion piece the bar for veracity seems to be set that much lower. I wonder whether the editor put his head round the door and said something like 'You don't look very busy right now, Matthew, I want 1500 words about Argentina before copy deadline' and whether Matthew then launched his office version of ChatGPT and failed to check the results afterwards?
