Latin America Rates High In Violent Cities

Argentina used to claim that it's economy was larger than Colombia's because Colombia was comparing it's economy to Argentina's in terms of the blue dollar rate.
But even now if you use the official rate which is what 8 something? Colombia's economy is larger.

Perhaps you have heard of the Wall Street Journal?

http://online.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304899704579389501040961442

But who in their right mind would use the official rate to judge Argentina's economic power?

Using the blue dolar which is really a more accurate reflection then Colombia has long sped past you. And now even using the officlal rate it is clear that Colombia is bigger.

It's hard to accept that your country is stuck in the mud with this Peronistic Socialist model as more free economies blow past you.

Time for a dose of reality.

Please tell me who said that Colombia economy is larger than Argentina's one, the article starts with Colombia has likely overtaken it as Latin America's third-largest economy.

Again, where is the data?

Please, what dose of reality are you talking about? When Argentines start flooding Colombia for a better future I will take your data on board.

Peronist Socialist? Bhahahahaha

We had free economics model in the 90's, if you know your history you will know how that end up.

I knew you were going to put up something like that. But the problem you make is that number one, the stats are from 2013. What happened to the Argentine peso since then? Plus that is using the "official" rate which we all know is a joke.

As I said even using the offical rate today vs Colombia it is clear that Colombia is larger. And using the blue dolar rate it is now not even a competition, Colombia has it in the bag.

I understand this is humiliating. Better to take your frustrations out on your government than killing the messenger!

Problems in Colombia? Yes! Prices are VERY high now. Try renting a decent furnished apartment in Medellin. Wow, sticker shock.
Food is much more costly also. So both places have their merits but regarding the economy in dollar terms (which is the only fair way to measure them) it is clear that Colombia has been bigger since 2012 and now after the massive Argentine devaluation Colombia is much bigger.

Ok, when you start learning some basic economics we can have a discussion. For your information, Peso is used for every transaction in the country (import, export) and what you consumed in the internal market that is imported is also based on the official rate.

Again, GDP in Argentina is more than 30% higher than in Colombia (check fact). GDP PPP is almost 1 trillion.

Please tell me what is humiliating? I do not see anything humiliating at all, but what is a bit pathetic is try to lie to prove a point (like your case).

Ok I get that this is much more important to you than it is to me.

http://www.bnamericas.com/news/banking/colombia-overtakes-argentina-as-latams-third-largest-economy

And according to this report Chile can soon overtake Argentina as well!

It's good to have passion and loyalty. But wow stubborn in defending government policies which are completely failing.
Like lying for a criminal family member in court. "I swear judge he was home with me all night!"

It can get you into trouble.

So my advice......less like Venezuela and more like Colombia.

No one in their right mind believes Argentina's economy is larger than Colombia's. Nor ANY of the stats that come out of this country for that matter.

But ok my friend. Argentina's economy is much bigger and healthier than Colombia's and the governments sound policies have the country headed in the right direction......;)

Argentina. GDP comparo Chile. GDP (purchasing power parity) $771 billion (2013 est.)
$745.2 billion (2012 est.)
$731.3 billion (2011 est.)
note: data are in 2013 US dollars $335.4 billion (2013 est.)
$321.3 billion (2012 est.)
$304.2 billion (2011 est.)
note: data are in 2013 US dollars

Colombia has a lot of huge social problems that argentina does not. Like inequality. Theres also the narco problem that they have started to export to the region, with a little help of the US of course. ;)
Lots of crimes happened in Argentina had Colombians involved, due to drug issues. I know at least two colombians who live here and are drug dealers. Its not like you have arrgentines in Colombia like that!!

With this "K" government every country can eventually reach argentinean GDP, but still long shot for chile to reach the same gdp as argentina, it will take quite a long time and i don't see it happening unless the price of copper multiply by a significant number and argentina continue electing Kischners like government for the next 40 years. So is a very long shot
