There is no cover, you are missinformed. The dictators gave up political power but they remain the control of the Courts. That´s why it is so important this the develop mecanism and procedures accoring with the democracy. You are missinformed again. My Master Julio Maier was the brain behing the democratization of the justice all arround south america using the argentine mistakes to avoid to repeat them.
The criminal reform in Chile, Guatemala and Bolivia are the one i can now remember.

Please tell me how, inadvertently leading to a situation where the government appoints the majority of judges (I know its indirect, so dont try and get me on a technicality, we both know how it works), can possibly improve the independence and "democracy" of the judiciary? This is just going to mean that whoever wins the majority in Parliament will have the majority on their side in the Judiciary.

The key plank is for it to be independent from government, thus as to create checks and balances. No matter who was in government from either side I would always recommend independence.

Whats the point in having a judiciary being elected at all? In fact, here is an idea for the Korruptos, why doesnt Kristina just openly fill the courts with judges that are friends/partners from her successful days as a practicing. She can appoint every single one, personally. And/or, maybe they can share it around between themselves, Boudou & Anibal Fernández, they can all have a turn at being a judge.

You are imagining it because you have no idea how is the procedure for electing judges. When Menem was President and he elected judges just firgepointing them it was possible that your conspiracy dream might be true, nowadays not.

Recentry the provisory judges were elected by the Congress. Were they 100% K friendly? No. 50% of them were pointed by some journalist like supporters.
Why???????? Because there is something you ignore and it called law. Thw law regarding electing judges establishes that groups of 4 are elected at Congress and they are send to the President who choose 1. Reallity is that this is negociated at the Congress and the President receives gropus of 4 candidates radicales, another of 4 candidates justicialistas and so on.

In fact, this government changed the law about how to elect judges some years ago. The change was regarding to give publicity to the process (tp avoid corruption) and to give a public hearing to give chances to impugn him/her by anybody, for example, somebody who had a case under this person when he was Secretary and can give his testimony that he has issues regarding xenofobia, for example.

I believe that the facts impungs your persecutory delusions.
