The Price of the MaC quarter pounder in B.A. as a measure of the value of the dollar, pretty close to the Blue rate, similar to The Economist MaC Economics published regularly.

Please refrain from comments to :
  • Invalidate the source :D
  • Question the Economics
  • Dispute Economies of scale ;)
  • Question the costs in transportation
  • etc...!

The calculation is to compare the price of the Quarter lb burger in a downtown of Buenos Aires, in Florida Street, priced at $ 36. This value is divided by the cost in an average city in the United States (US$ 4 in the most expensive and US$3 in the most economical), that is US$3,52. The result gives a Dollar "Quarter Pounder" of $ 10.22. B) (36/3,52 = 10.22)

At the official exchange rate, the Quarter lbr goes for US$6, almost double the US$3,52 it costs in the USA.

Therefore, the Argentina today is more expensive for us not only in real terms but also for Americans who come to vacation here?

Way much more expensive in the US since you'll have to pay for healthcare in order to treat the burger related diseases.
And it's going to be even more expensive in the future in the US considering the Obamacare reform!

Love the pre-emptive gag order: "I'm going to publish an economic statistics, but don't anyone question the methodology." Is Moreno ghost writing Rich One's posts now that he's got more time on his hands?

It's not a statistical rigorous criteria, is just an empirical observation, a piece of curiosity , nothing more.

I suspected that some would object the data claiming that the Fundacion Mediterranea may be akin to Clarin and Magneto

I know a gentleman who is a very senior vice president ay McDonald's. He has told me that 75% of corporate profit is earned on their non USA restaurants. So perhaps it is not a good analogy unless compared to other countries as well. Also the US market is super competitive , with Burger King and other restaurants to compete against.

They compete only in toxicity.
