Moving To Mendoza From Ba

Thanks for your responses. Does anyone know the 'better or safer' areas in Mendoza city center to live?
La Quinta Sección (where I have been living these last 5 years) and Cuarta Oeste. Both are also close to Parque San Martín and the artificial lake. Las Heras to the north and parts of Guaymallén are places to stay away from, at least after dark.

One question, how easy is it to get from the outskirts into the center if this is where my girlfriend's office will be I think she wants to live somewhere where access is easy. How long are commute times on buses from for example Chacras de Coria, etc?

It depends on where exactly you live and where the office is (Can you take the express bus that goes straight to the terminal? or do you have to take one that goes through all of Godoy Cruz? etc.). The range for Chacras is probably from 30-45 minutes.

From the Outskirts east of Mendoza it is probably a litte faster if the town is near route 7. For example the bus ride from Rodeo del Medio to the terminal takes less than 30 mins.

Avoid the north (las Heras ...) - too dangerous.

I forgot to mention that if you will be living and working near the Tramvia (light rail) it is a reasonably fast transportation.
