My mother in law came to visit Adri yesterday at home whilst I was at work.
During the few seconds she had rung the bell and was waiting, a motochorro (s) mounted the pavement, grabbed her bags and sped off.
Luckily she wasn't hurt, but was of course badly shaken. She's 75 years old.
We live in a quiet area near Olivos only a few yards away from a supposed 'guard' hut.

Glad to hear she was not hurt. Did you talk to the guard after that? Or any neighbors? Sorry to hear this :(

my neighbor was held up at gun point last night inside the Bank while using the ATM at 11:30 pm on Santa Fe Ave,

Santa Fe and Azcuenaga in Recoleta
Ugh that is 2 blocks from here. Do you know if ti was Banco Nacion or HSBC? Banco Nacion´s atm always looks kinda sketchy to me at night. Still it is on a main avenue, it is really f***d up!

I don't have a 'working relationship' with the guard, but I walked over to tell him and he turned his back and walked away.

Chicken shit f...ks. Always pick on the vulnerable. Have to wonder what makes someone tick that preys on a 75 yr old lady. Special place in Hell for these people. Not unique to Argentina for sure.

With this you mean you are not paying for security? If this is the case, I think this is the answer to the episode, some " companies " " talk you " into getting a security service iykwim.
