As some of you know, I formerly owned a business in Buenos Aires. While it was both a good and bad experience, I suffered both emotionally as well as a financial loss, due to the corruption in the Buenos Aires city government, which eventually led to my businesses demise. Whats more, my business was profitable, so that hurt even more. I have a lawsuit underway, but as well, I've decided to vent in another way. Here's my blog:

Is there a list somewhere of BA blogs kept by expats/users of this forum? I stumble on them now and then, but would love to create a RSS feed or something to avoid having to go look for them each time.

We definitely should have a place to list our blogs. Foreigners even if they come from all different places, tend to run into the same types of problems / issues when they come to live in a new country. It would be nice to keep each other informed as much as possible.

David you have and will always have my support but I don't see how you can blame a Bsas government chief for problems that have beset the city for decades..I don't expect Macri to clean up the s**t that he inherited in 4 years any more than I expect Obama to prodce full employment and a budget surplus in USA after 8 yrs of Republican ineptitude. You really suffered and someone is to blame but Macri about the only Bsas politician after Lavagna that I can stomach as he seems to "get it" in words at least.....just an opinion.

Thanks for your support, but the corruption that exists in this city comes from the top down. 200% increase to ABL, Macri's inspectors are paid a "plus" for each business that gets shut down for "supposed" infractions, who ever heard of a city government that works DIRECTLY against it's citizens. I can't speak for everyone in this city or in Argentina for that matter. I can only go by what I've experienced and others I know. The first hearing I had for my lawsuit against the Buenos Aires city government, they sent and ARROGANT, 25 year old lawyer to represent them, who asked immediately for the case to be withdrawn for lack of evidence. My lawyer of course ripped him to shreds and presented the evidence to the judge, who then said, "well it's clear what has happened here, I am removing this case from the Buenos Aires court, and sending it to the tribunals of the Nación, as within the city of Buenos Aires, this case will never go anywhere" now they have to answer to a federal judge, who of course will have lots of fun ripping them to shreds.

Hi David, Sorry to hear about this. Is there a thread on the forum that covers what happened to you and how you were harrassed by the city goon squad?

Thanks Bubba, if you go to my blog and scroll down to the links you can see the entire story. Most of what happened was also posted here on the board at the time it happened but I don't know if that info is archived or not within the baexpats site. Cheers.

I admire your fortitude matey!
Too much reticence around just now.
Too much 'lo que sea'...'es lo que hay'....'que podemos hacer?'...etc etc
Go for it.

Thanks to all who have send messages of support. I really appreciate it!

And in spite of Macri differences I will say David that legal redress goes a long way to heal old wounds and the sense of injustice that some of us, such as you have suffered. I wish you all the best with the legal case! They say some women fall in love with their male OBGYNs (I wouldnt know as mine were women ) but I certainly could have fallen for my barrister as I have never felt more grateful or indebted to that individual who used the law and his expertise to stop my own particular nightmare. I wish you equal success.
